A high-gain circularly-polarized planar antenna is proposed for satellite communications. It consists of a linearly-polarized patch antenna and an asymmetric frequency selective shield newly developed. The antenna is designed to operate in the C-band and has high gains more than 10 dBic across the operation band. For creating the admirable features
