Panel Session 05 Aug 2019

Advanced sensor systems such as advanced metering infrastructure have seen widespread adoption in the world. The modeling, monitoring and control of power distribution systems can be significantly enhanced by leveraging the large amount of data collected through the sensor systems in the distribution grids. However, strategies for unlocking the potential of big data in distribution systems are at an early stage of development. This panel will bring together speakers from industry and academia to share their experience and best practices about data-driven analytics in the operation and maintenance of power distribution systems. The panel session will also identify the road map for future research in this area.
