Panel 12 Aug 2019

The smart city concept integrates information and communication technology (ICT), and various physical devices connected to the network (the Internet of things or IoT) to optimize the efficiency of city operations and services and connect to citizens. Some of the business applications for utilities include leasing space on light and power poles, providing cities with "intelligence as a service", ubiquitous Wi-Fi, and community and economic development. As a new business line, it perfectly fits with ongoing quest to make our customers' lives better. This panel session will feature few presentations to shed light on various initiatives undertaken by local utilities in regard to Smart Cities.

Chairs:
Pooja Shah, Georgia Power Company
