Panel Session 06 Aug 2020

Distribution system state estimation (DSSE) is a key enabler for the development of critical applications toward a resilient system with a high penetration of distributed energy resources. There have been a couple of applications based on DSSE, such as reactive power management, outage management, loss reduction, demand response, adaptable over-current protection, DERs dispatch, integration with transmission system operations, etc. This panel aims to discuss both existing and emerging DSSE-based applications, highlight the challenges and pave the way for the next generation of DSSE algorithms and applications.
