Panel Session 06 Aug 2020

In an asset management context there are many theoretical analyses which can be undertaken and plans which can be drawn up. In this session we look at practical steps and experiences in the asset management of electric distribution systems – the balancing of risk, cost and performance in a sustainable manner (as per ISO55000). Generating data to identify asset condition requires an understanding of asset failure modes and timescales – analyzing the data may hinge upon the performance of a small subset of assets, and the statistical analyses may vary with a single failure: the safety record of the Concorde airliner after one fatal incident is an example. Consequently we must address hazards and risks in a statistical manner, but understand the practical framework in which we operate. Panelists will present and promote discussion on a variety of subjects of related tpo asset performance and improvement.
