This panel mainly focuses on the technological advances and implementation experiences of battery energy storage to support electric power grid integrated with distributed energy resources. In this panel, the panelist discusses various battery technologies and research advances in this direction, field best practices involved in implementing the battery energy storage technologies, use cases that have been performed with various battery energy storage technologies, value propositions of each application which includes the business case for reach use cases, sizing and location considerations, and application-related aspects of various battery technologies. Finally, various aspects on the decision-making process that comes as a part of selection, implementation, and analysis from both industrial and utility perspective is discussed. The panelist includes industry experts, utility experts, and academics.
