National Transmission Expansion for Decarbonization

This session will cover a wide variety of issues related to transmission expansion at a national level to decarbonize the energy economy. What kind of transmission topology is needed to maintain reliability in a decarbonized future? What role does offshore wind transmission play? What kind of transmission planning needs to nationally and how does it mesh with regional planning? How will we site and permit extensive expansion? How will DER expansion impact transmission needs? We will discuss transmission scenarios, national transmission planning, offshore wind, transmission technologies, siting and permitting.
