Definition and quantification of power system resilience

This panel will present the main conclusions of the Task Force report on the definition and quantification of resilience. This document summarizes a multi-year effort and reviews the multi-faceted work on the resilience of power systems and interconnected infrastructural systems. Some unique features of the report include event quantification from actual utility data, explicit discussion of the relationship with reliability and security, and coverage of economic and social aspects. We hope that the panel will inform other groups working on resilience in IEEE PES, and elicit lively and productive discussions.
