As the penetration of power electronics increases in the power grid, the requirement to utilize high-fidelity dynamic models and perform EMT simulations will exacerbate. Common questions that arise is what type of models are needed and in which circumstances such models are necessary. In this proposed panel session, different fidelity of models of PV or hybrid PV plants utilized and their corresponding needs will be discussed. Various EMT simulations performed and their corresponding value proposition will also be deliberated. Finally, the requirements identified from EMT simulators, models supplied from generation owners or operators, among others, will also be briefly discussed.
