It becomes important to understand the solver requirements in electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulations as larger system with more fidelity of individual component models are analyzed in EMT. In this session, the focus will be on different numerical simulation methods and parallelism techniques that have been applied to enhance the speed of EMT simulation of high-fidelity component models and large system analyzed in EMT. There will be applications where these algorithms have been applied that will be showcased. The topics that will be covered in the session include numerical methods and parallelism techniques applied to power electronics and power system with large number of power electronics, scalable EMT simulation methods in offline and real-time, practical applications of these techniques, among others.
