Panel 12 Sep 2024

Increasing integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) affects distribution grid from all aspects. It also offers distribution grid operators with new means of supporting objectives related to distribution grid operations, end-customer value, and market participation. New technologies including machine learning and AI are adopted in DER monitoring and management, and enables us to optimize power systems, maximize system performance, minimize cost and consumption, and facilitate the seamless integration of DER into the existing infrastructure. In this panel, we will have six speakers respectively from industry, academia, and national lab to discuss about their commercial products and research work related to DER management. These speakers will present use case studies conducted in USA, UK and Asia, and introduce how reliable and resilient distribution grid operations can be achieved by using intelligent DER management solutions.
