Oscillatory events have become prevalent extensively in the power grid in the recent years with greater integration of inverter-based resources (IBRs). Additionally, trips in the power grid by some of the inverters in IBRs when faults happen far away from the location of IBR have become observable in the recent years. There is potential to utilize electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulations to develop potential solutions to mitigate oscillations and/or create digital twins that can assist with enhancing the reliable operation of power grids. In this panel session, there will be a discussion on all studies that can be performed using EMT simulations that include oscillations mitigation or potential creation of digital twins.
