This panel will discuss recent advances and remaining gaps in resource adequacy, with a particular focus on how industry practitioners and researchers are addressing the consideration of decarbonization in resource adequacy assessments. New modeling and tool approaches will be described, with a focus on how emerging resources such as hydrogen, long duration storage and demand flexibility can contribute to reliability needs. The intersection of flexibility and resource adequacy will also be discussed, and various methods for including flexibility described. Finally, consideration of extreme events, driven by extreme weather, will be addressed by panelists. The panel is expected to include a mix of industry and research from various parts of the world.
