The operation of electricity markets around the world is producing a huge volume of data, of diverse nature. A significant part of this date is in the public domain and can be used by the players operating in these markets. However, knowledge discovery techniques are not being adequately used so that rele- vant information and knowledge is made available. The envisaged information and knowledge should be especially important to address regulatory issues and analyze the impact of regulatory schemes on market players.
