The future widespread use of residential-scale low carbon technologies such as photovoltaic panels, electric vehicles or electric heat pumps is prompting distribution network operators to investigate their impacts and the potential solutions. In particular, low voltage networks, typically unobserved and uncon- trolled, are believed to become one of major the bottlenecks. This panel session will present and discuss different views, approaches and trials on this topic. Given that most of the works to be presented is based on industry-funded projects, it will be possible to also understand the corresponding country- specific challenges.
