With the advent of new distribution technologies, including significant utility, industry, and government investment, detailed analysis of distribution systems have come to the forefront of power system analysis. Advanced control and optimization algorithms, rich simulation environments, demonstrations, and a score of other advancements have made for a rapidly evolving field, with new (and old) concepts emerging at an unseen before rate.
