Smart Village Session 25 Aug 2021

Traditional mobility through internal combustion engine (ICE) cars is becoming unpopular mainly due to increasing cost of fossil fuels and ICE-related CO2 emissions, which have created reasons to think outside the box for mobility through electric vehicles (EVs). In Africa, there are challenges to the adoption to e-mobility, but they are out-weighed by the motivations for EVs including need to reduce CO2 emissions and oil dependency, rise in oil price, falling battery prices and electric vehicles, advancement in alternative fuels, technological advancements in electronic motor innovations, improvements in energy density of batteries, and need for clean, green, sustainable and safe energy sources.
