Wind and solar power plants may be subject to different standards and interconnection requirements, depending on their size, geographic location, interconnection point and other factors. In addition, current IEEE standards projects in the smart grid arena are "making plans" for these renewable energy sources. This panel session introduces and summarizes some of the requirements applied to wind and solar plants, with a goal of identifying more opportunities to coordinate and update standards.
