In this presentation, the concept of Maxwell’s displacement current is discussed in the original context of its development. It is suggested that teaching the concept in this way can help students reflect about innovation and creativity. The approach can also possibly help facilitate the attainment of higher levels of intellectual development, consistent with higher education goals.
