Although, induction machines IMs are widely adopted in industrial applications, their use in transport systems has been limited by the surge of more performant solutions based on permanent magnets.
However, in the aim of reducing the environmental footprint of the electrical machines manufacturing process and releasing the supply chain from the volatility and uncertainty of magnet rare earth materials procurement, Induction motors are facing a new-born and they are now seen among the most promising technologies for a sustainable future of electrified transports
