This webinar will provide an overview of DER technologies, and will review issues, requirements and opportunities associated with integration and operation of these resources. Distribution grid modernization requirements as well as new tools and capabilities needed for management of the grid with high penetrations of DER will be discussed. Also, grid service requirements for mitigating the adverse impact of variable generation on distribution and transmission grid will be reviewed. The webinar will also address the impact of distributed resources on the supply and demand economics and will review new market-based initiatives for retail operation including the Independent Distribution System Operator (IDSO) constructs.
