Abstract: With the evolution of wireless communication and sensing, the spectrum resource above 100GHz has attracted much attention and extensive research. Owing to the advantages on integration level and low cost, and increasing cut-off frequency, silicon-based technology has strong potential in terahertz applications. However, due to the low voltage and high substrate loss, the performance of silicon-based circuits is limited. In this talk, we will address these challenges and overview the research progress in this field, and introduce our recent works including energy-efficient power amplifier and front-end circuits.
