Volume 12: Issue 2: Microgrid Protection

This issue focuses on the protection and control technologies for microgrids. The guest editor is Professor Ali Hooshyar from the University of Toronto, a world-recognized expert in protection and control. Professor Hooshyar invited industry and academic experts to offer six feature articles and two columns to share with the readers. The authors are from Burns and McDonnell, BC Hydro, EPRI, S&C, the University of New Mexico, Sandia National Laboratories, Quanta Technology, G&W, Iowa State University, Eaton, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The six articles cover a range of topics, including integrating distributed energy resources into distribution systems while saving costs on protection, grounding and protection design, networked microgrid control and coordination, DC microgrid protection and control, and inverter-based resource control design to suit traditional protection systems.
