DER Integration and Microgrids

The Economics and Industry Standing Committee (EISC) is currently undertaking an inquiry into Microgrids and Associated Technologies. This committee asked IEEE PES for technical input and experience in terms of: The physical impacts of increased DER penetration on American grids; Policies aimed at increasing DER take-up; Regulatory changes to accommodate energy system transformation, their progress/success and their impact on system operations; Any other useful lessons or insights that IEEE PES may have; and How NY's experience has differed to that of other American States. This deck presented in response to the EISC's request.
