The popularity of screen content applications, such as WIFI display, online gaming, remote desktop sharing, has drawn more and more attentions in both industry and research communities. To address the need of high efficiency compression of such contents, some coding tools are designed specifically. Intra block copy (IBC), as one of the most efficient screen content oriented coding technologies, has been included in the new generation of AVS coding standard (AVS3). In this paper, the design of IBC mode in AVS3 standard is presented. Simulation results show that the proposed IBC mode achieves both reasonable low implementation complexity and high compression benefit.
