Big Data Analytics has become a buzzword in many Smart Grid forums. This session focuses on the how utilities are using and can use the exponential growth in utility data to drive operational performance. By 24 mashing up multiple sources of data such as OMS, DMS, AMI, SCADA, GIS, asset management, weather, and customer systems, utilities can identify new analytics applications to reduce risks and control costs. A number of operational analytics applications will be discussed such as system losses and theft detection, network connectivity model QA/QC improvement, DG forecasting, asset loading analysis, asset risk assessment and asset investment planning funding prioritization.
